Nevada's window tint regulations offer more flexibility than commonly assumed. Here is what the law actually allows in 2026, so you can tint your car without a fix-it ticket.
Front side windows
Nevada allows 35% VLT on front side windows. VLT, visible light transmission, is the percentage of light the film lets through. Lower numbers are darker.
Rear and SUV windows
Rear side windows and the rear window have more flexibility, and SUVs and vans get additional latitude. This is where limo-dark options are on the table.
Windshields
Windshields require non-reflective tint and only above the AS-1 line, the manufacturer's marked strip near the top of the glass.
